New CDC Mask Guidelines for Vaccinated Businesses Companies and Employers

Although the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) latest easing of restrictions for the fully vaccinated is welcome news, it shifts the burden of mask-wearing policies for workplace safety to each individual employer to determine what is best for their workforce and business.

The CDC’s updated mask-wearing guidelines state that those fully vaccinated can now resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. Even if vaccinated, people will still be required to wear a mask on planes, buses, trains, and other forms of public transportation traveling into, within, or out of the United States, and in U.S. transportation hubs such as airports and stations.
