Our Founding

Before starting Employer Advantage, our company’s founder Lee Allphin ran his own business making industrial chemicals. Lee was a brilliant chemist and talented business leader but he always felt like he was spending too much time on HR issues, even once he hired an HR director to help him out.

After seven years successfully running his company, he decided to sell it. He was tired of trying to run his business and handle the HR burden. As he pondered how small- and medium-sized companies handle their HR, he kept thinking, “There has to be a better way!”

And, thus, Employer Advantage was born. Taking care of businesses is in our DNA. Everything we do is designed to make it easier, simpler, and, well, more…blissful for business leaders to offload the burden of HR.

We’ll work with you to gather the important information we’ll need to handle everything from your payroll taxes to administering your benefit plans. If you don’t know how to get an important piece of information, we’ll help you figure it out!
Set up your customized HR platform

We handle the process of setting up your superb HR platform so you don’t have to sweat it. We ask how you want us to handle the details and then we make it happen. And when you have questions, we won’t just tell you to restart your computer. We provide all the detailed support for your new system!

Gather employee information
Our electronic employee onboarding system makes it a snap for your employees to quickly provide updated information for their electronic employee files, set up their online portals and select their stupendous benefits. Plus, we’re always there to answer your employees’ questions, too!
Process your first payroll
We’ll work closely with you to process your first payroll to make sure it happens seamlessly. Feel all those HR burdens you’ve been carrying start to fall away!

How long do your clients typically stay with you?
On average, our clients stay with us for more than nine years! We’ve had the privilege of serving some of our clients for more than 30 years.
Is my company too big or too small for Employer Advantage?

We serve clients with a range of 1-2,000 employees. All of them have a dedicated service team because businesses large and small deserve to have the personal service they need.

How does your pricing work?

Our pricing is based on your needs and size. You’ll never have to pay for what you don’t need. Typically, our services cost an average of $80-$125 per employee per month. Let us put a customized proposal together for your business!

We strive to make our pricing as transparent as possible. You’ll know what you are paying for all your payroll taxes, your benefits, workers’ compensation, and our services as well.

How do I get a quote or proposal for my company?

To create a proposal, we need to learn about how you are currently handling HR, what your challenges are, and how you want your HR to work. We typically hold 2-3 meetings with companies to gather all the information we need to create an accurate proposal, including the services you’ll receive and what you’ll actually pay.

How am I billed for your services?
Our fees are prorated based on the frequency of your business’s payroll. When we debit your bank account to pay employee wages and payroll taxes, we’ll also include our fees. We do this to help our clients have smooth and predictable cash flows.
How many employees do I need to participate in your employee benefits?

For our health insurance through United Healthcare, you’ll need a minimum of 5 participating employees and 50% of employees who are eligible for health insurance.

For our other employee benefits, there are no minimum employee participation requirements.

Should I wear a cummerbund with this outfit?
Definitely not. That’s our job. So sit back, relax, and let us make your HR blissful!
